SSDS is one of the largest contractors to the Australian Defence forces, directly employing thousands of Australians and engaging hundreds of Local Industry Providers for direct service delivery under contract to bases and facilities for supplies, equipment and a range of other services. SSDS is a joint venture formed in 1993 between two global support service companies: Serco Group - a facilities maintenance and systems engineering Defence specialist and Sodexo Alliance - a leading international hospitality and multi-service contractor.
