e-CBD Creative Director Matt Granfield
Matt brings a strong communications focus to e-CBD, having worked in public relations and journalism roles at the ABC and News Corp prior to joining the company as creative director in 2001. He holds a communications degree, is a qualified real estate agent and continues to have a strong involvement in the Queensland creative arts industry as President of the Gold Coast Music Industry Association. In an age of information dissemination, his ability to get a message across effectively, succinctly and beautifully is a crucial asset.
"American architect/philosopher Buckminster Fuller summed up the epitome of design philosophy with these words: ‘When I am working on a problem I never think about beauty. I only think about how to solve the problem. But when I have finished, if the solution is not beautiful, I know it is wrong.' — and that's exactly how it should be. Too many web developers get caught up with either designing for the sake of designing, or solving problems unbeautifully. At e-CBD our number one focus is bringing stakeholders together via the Internet in the most effective way; in doing so we make sure it's beautiful and we make sure it's at the cutting edge of web technology."
Matt has overseen the design and development of more than 300 websites and is one of Australia's leading search engine marketing consultants, having worked on campaigns for organisations as large as the Australian Labor Party and as small as your local corner shop.
When not in his office, Matt enjoys playing bass with his band The Black Market Rhythm Co., hurtling around mountain passes in fast black cars and traipsing around the kind of terrain that requires the wearing of Gore-Tex shoes.
