Singapore Street

There was nothing particularly special about this street except that it was around the corner from the hostel I stayed. I had a Singapore Sling with some Irish backpackers in one of the bars, I think it was a blue building, and the receipt had the words "tourist price" unceremoniously printed on it, which didn't inspire a whole lot of confidence. It tasted like cough syrup anyway.

There are nicer, more authentic looking streets in Singapore but most of them look something like this. Almost all of them smell of Asian spice and general cleanliness. It's lovely.

And, for the record:

Singapore Sling Recipe

30ml Gin
15 ml Cherry Brandy
120 ml Pineapple Juice
15 ml Lime Juice
7.5 ml Cointreau
7.5 ml Dom Benedictine
10 ml Grenadine
A Dash of Angostura Bitters
Garnish with a slice of Pineapple and Cherry

"Originally, the Singapore Sling was meant as a woman's drink, hence the attractive pink colour"

I still think it tastes like cough syrup.
