Governor's Head, Jervis Bay

One of the beautiful things about the Australian bush is that it regenerates ingeniously through fire. Burning the bejesus out of most things is about the best way to get rid of them, but if you burn the Australian bush it bounces straight back — some seeds, like the Banksia, actually have to be burnt to open up and grow

When a bushfire rips through Jervis Bay National Park it often goes right to the edge of the cliffs and you get some pretty amazing views through the charred undergrowth. The contrast between the charcoal and the deep blue ocean is amazing.
